Ces images sont des fragments de vie d'une femme de 26 ans originaire du Finistère, nomade depuis plus de deux ans et saisonnière agricole. «Chloé et Sarrazin» reflète le quotidien de Chloé, en nuance, décrivant ce mode de vie atypique.A 14 ans, Chloé fréquente déjà le monde de la fête alternative. Pendant 4 ans, elle fait partie d'un sound système qui organise des «teufs» en Bretagne. Elle évolue dans ce monde de liberté où chacun doit se fixer ses propres limites. Aujourd'hui, elle continue à côtoyer le monde des raves party et des festivals mais de façon plus modérée. Pendant son temps libre, elle chante et aimerait composer ses propres chansons.Après sa licence de philosophie avec parcours musique, elle échoue à l'examen d'entrée au conservatoire en chant lyrique. Après ses études et avoir tenter la vie en appartement, son envie de se construire différemment est toujours bien présente. Elle réalise alors le rêve qu'elle a depuis 10 ans et s'achète un fourgon nommé Sarrazin qu'elle aménage elle-même. Elle choisit le mode de vie nomade, celui d'une vie plus libre ou l'on déplace sa maison en un tour de clé sur le contact. Vivre en camion n'est pas qu'un choix d'habitat mais un réel choix de vie qui permet pour elle de se dépasser, évoluer et se réinventer en permanence.Elle rejoint alors la grande communauté de nomades où l'entraide est de mise, ainsi que celle des saisonniers agricoles, une grande famille de personnes se déplaçant au grès de leurs contrats de travail. Chloé rencontre d'autres «points non fixes» qui se recroisent. Il y a des bifurcations, des modes de vies différents et des personnes en marge de la société. Elle garde néanmoins des points d'ancrages de son ancienne vie en Bretagne.Chloé travaille principalement dans la viticulture. Mais, être saisonnière agricole c'est faire le choix d'une vie précaire qui demande beaucoup d’organisation pour exercer un travail physique. Les conditions de vie sont inconfortables voir difficiles et les durées de contrats énoncées au départ ne sont pas toujours respectées. Contre toute attente, certains jours, en fonction de la météo et de la maturation de la vigne, il n'y a pas de travail. Chloé comprend aujourd'hui tout le cycle de la vigne, la réflexion derrière le travail manuel mais ne pense pas travailler dans ce domaine toute sa vie.Vivre en camion et travailler dans l'agriculture oblige à passer beaucoup de temps à l'extérieur et sentir les saisons. Les mi-saisons sont très agréables mais l'hiver est rude. Le matin, les fenêtres du camion peuvent êtres gelées à l'intérieur. Le confort est accessible mais demande beaucoup d'efforts, il n'est pas le même que dans une vie sédentaire car chaque action du quotidien est plus complexe à effectuer. Chloé remplit ses bidons d'eau elle-même, n'a pas l'eau chaude ni de douche à l'intérieur de son fourgon. La consommation d'électricité est limitée à celle de la production des panneaux solaires et celle de l'eau aux quantités disponibles. Pour elle, un des objectifs de ce choix de vie est d'apprendre à se débrouiller par elle-même dans tous domaines et être plus indépendante. Ainsi, à chaque problème mécanique sur son vieux fourgon, elle met les mains dans le cambouis. Chloé considère que si les énergies viennent à être difficilement accessibles, elle sera moins impactée car déjà habituée à vivre avec le minimum. Bonnard et Julie le Pann sont paysannes herboristes dans le Finistère. Elles produisent leurs plantes aromatiques et médicinales sur deux jardins et se rejoignent sous le nom de « l'Arpente. » créé en 2013. Un terme, qui signifie à la fois "arpenter" et "arpent de terrain ou l'on cultive". Elles vendent leurs tisanes, baumes, huiles, hydrolats et produits d'épicerie en circuits courts et proposent des ateliers dans le but de partager leurs savoirs. Julie, Dorothée et Prunelle travaillent la terre sur de petites surfaces de moins d'un hectare leur permettant de prendre soin différemment de leurs terres que sur de grandes cultures. En plus d'être en agriculture biologique avec beaucoup de diversité, elles sont adhérentes à «nature et progrès» et continuent à répondre aux critères de l'association au fil des années et de leurs agrandissements. Cette démarche leur permet de chercher des solutions d'efficacité tout en respectant le vivant. Être dans le respect des écosystèmes, prendre le temps, ne pas tout maîtriser, laisser vivre les choses leurs sont des évidences depuis le départ. La cueillette sauvage est également une pratique qui leur tient à coeur. Il est aussi important pour l'Arpente d'apprendre à travailler à plusieurs, tout en gardant de l'indépendance pour laisser la place à l'expérimentation et à l'erreur. Elles progressent continuellement, continuent à se former en herboristerie et en agriculture. Au fil des années, ces femmes restent émerveillées par les couleurs et les odeurs qui émanent des plantes de l'Arpente. L' intérêt de Prunelle envers ce métier vient de l'envie d'être en lien avec les saisons, de travailler plus l'été et moins l'hiver, d'être dehors, connectée aux premiers signes du printemps. Elle apprécie exercer plusieurs métiers en un. Julie, elle, est d'avantage passionnée par le travail que le résultat. Elle aime manipuler, faire, tester, goûter, fabriquer, et ce dehors, tout en apprenant à découvrir le paysage et ce qui le compose.Dorothée est fascinée par le fait qu'il y ait dans la nature des éléments pour soigner les êtres humains qui poussent spontanément. Ce n'est pas que l'agriculture qui l'intéresse, mais ce mode de vie en lien avec les éléments et les saisons qui l'ont amener à ce métier en lien avec les plantes médicinales. « Paysannes herboristes aux quatre saisons » est une série réalisée entre mars 2022 et février 2023. Un an à l'Arpente, au rythme des saisons, du travail respectueux du sol aux semis, des plantations aux récoltes, de la fabrication à la vente des produits. <img width="5534" height="3689" nomade, c’est la première fois depuis longtemps que je m’installe quelque part pour une durée indéterminée. Après plusieurs années passées dans le mouvement permanent, les passages et les départs, je me retrouve presque par hasard dans les Monts d’Arrée. Ils sont à la fois sauvages, habités, touristiques par moments et isolés à d’autres. C'est un territoire vivant, façonné par le climat, les saisons, les routes et les reliefs. Je me souviens de la première image que j'ai prise ici, après les incendies de l’été 2022 autour du Mont Saint-Michel de Brasparts. Malgré l’humidité ambiante et la pluie, j’ai découvert un paysage plus fragile qu’il n’y paraît. Je suis arrivée avec une appréhension, celle de tenter de m’ancrer quelque part, dans un lieu inconnu et dans une forme de ruralité que je connaissais pas. Comment habiter un territoire lorsque l’on sait que l’on n’y restera pas ? Comment appréhender un lieu lorsque l’on est encore étrangère à sa géographie et ses rythmes ? J’ai choisi de découvrir les Monts d’Arrée par le paysage, la nature et les routes, ma manière d’entrer dans un territoire, comme un voyage. J’ai conduit, marché, arpenté, erré, rarement revenue plusieurs fois aux mêmes endroits, toujours attirée par l’envie de voir plus loin, de découvrir chaque recoin. J’ai été rapidement fascinée par la force des lumières, du vent, de la pluie, des reliefs et par cette impression d’espace immense. Ici, les distances sont courtes, mais elles se ressentent longuement. La route fait partie du quotidien autant que de l’isolement. À travers cette série, je travaille autant les paysages que les détails qui les composent, la biodiversité, les traces humaines, les signes d’habitation, coexistence entre solitude et attachement. Ce travail parle des Monts d’Arrée, mais aussi de ce que signifie tenter de trouver sa place, explore la notion de se sentir « chez soi » dans un territoire lorsque l’on a longtemps vécu ailleurs. EXTRAITS :&nbsp; Dans le nord de la Mayenne se trouve «L’ écolieu Les Loups». C’est le premier lieu où je me rends en juin 2020, je suis ravie de pouvoir enfin prendre la route. Les objectifs de Cyril, 36 ans, pour l’ écolieu sont «la permaculture, la récupération et la création». «L’écolieu Les Loups» est un lieu de passages, de rencontres et de recherches de transitions écologiques. Il y a 6 ans, Cyril achète ce terrain de 4600 m² dans le département où il vit depuis sa jeunesse dans le but de fonder cet écolieu. Après le confinement, je suis une des premières personnes à être accueillie à nouveau et je passe une courte semaine très calme avec Cyril. Je l’aide notamment dans ses multiples projets. Ce lieu me semble très agréable à vivre et j’ai mille et une choses à photographier. Je découvre un écolieu créé de toutes pièces par une seule personne et je trouve ce choix impressionnant vu l’ampleur de l’investissement que demande un tel projet. Il y a trois ans, Cyril se lance dans cette aventure et aujourd’hui il vit sur l’écolieu à l’année avec ses chiens dans une forêt nouvelle bordée d’une petite rivière entièrement boisée de plus de 600 arbres relativement jeunes et de quelques chênes emblématiques plus anciens. Il accueille régulièrement des personnes qui souhaitent découvrir et expérimenter une vie différente. Il partage régulièrement ses propres expériences, ses idées mais aussi ses doutes sur les réseaux sociaux. Cyril est une personne sensible et créative, à la recherche d’une vie simple et plus autonome. EXTRAITS : Dans une forêt au cœur du Périgord vert se trouve le projet familial de Mathieu et Nathalie, celui de vivre en autonomie avec leurs animaux sur un terrain en fermage de 3 hectares. Le couple vit dans une cabane en bois avec leurs trois enfants. En un an sur ce lieu, celui-ci est devenu rapidement autonome en énergies. Je passe une semaine fin juin avec elleux à partager leur quotidien, pleinement intégrée à toute la famille. Mathieu et Nathalie se définissent comme féministes et anarchistes et sont à l’origine informaticien et éducatrice spécialisée. Iels n’ont aujourd’hui plus d’emploi rémunérateur, s’occupant à plein temps de leurs enfants. Je trouve leur chemin parcouru sur ce terrain admirable et le couple très inspirant. Ces deux individu.e.s sont passionné.e.s par l’être humain et le vivant en général et se questionnent profondément sur le fonctionnement du système dans lequel nous vivons. J’ai pu partager avec eux de longues discussions sur ces sujets, et leurs connaissances dans de nombreux domaines m’ont vraiment impressionnée. EXTRAITS : C’est dans un joli coin reculé de Corrèze que se trouvent «les sources du Lavandou», à la fois un lieu de vie et un espace militant. En contrebas d’une petite route départementale, de nombreux chemins sinueux qu’on ne peut emprunter qu’à pied, s’entremêlent dans une forêt et me mènent jusqu’aux cabanes. Je me sens très rapidement à ma place dans cet endroit magique, incroyablement harmonieux et apaisant. C’est ici que s’élabore et s’expérimente le mouvement de la «Désobéissance Fertile», fondé par Jonathan et Caroline. J’y arrive avec une grande envie de rencontrer le couple qui a pensé et initié ce mouvement maintenant très médiatisé et qui s’inscrit pleinement dans la démarche de mon reportage. Lors de ma venue en juillet 2020, Jonathan rédige d’ailleurs le manifeste qui se trouve aujourd’hui en librairie. Iels sont sept à vivre sur place et à partager les mêmes aspirations, celles d’être au contact de la nature et de repenser leurs relations à elleuxmêmes, aux autres, à leur façon d’habiter le monde et de cohabiter avec tout le vivant environnant. Je vis avec les habitant.e.s dans la bienveillance qu’iels s’offrent et je profite du bonheur simple que me renvoie chacun.e qui rayonne d’une joie quotidienne. Leurs journées s’organisent entre le travail de la terre et les temps personnels, dans une recherche d’équilibre constant entre «l’agradation» du lieu et une reconnexion avec soi. EXTRAITS : Laurence et Gilles sont installés au cœur du Lot dans une maison au milieu d’un terrain de 5 hectares. Le couple m’accueille fin juillet 2020 en pleine canicule. Malgré la chaleur écrasante de ces journées d’été, je suis très enthousiasmée par cette rencontre. J’ai hâte de découvrir comment iels concrétisent leur envie d’une autonomie alimentaire la plus totale. Sur ce sujet, c’est la démarche la plus radicale que je rencontre alors je suis impatiente de découvrir son fonctionnement. Une fois arrivée chez Laurence et Gilles, je ressens immédiatement toute la passion et la motivation qu’iels investissent dans ce choix de vie, ainsi que la modestie du couple vis-à-vis de tout le travail et les savoirs-faire qu’iels développent. Leur lieu de vie est composé de forêts (principalement des châtaigniers), de parcelles dédiées aux animaux et d’autres aux potagers. En achetant cette propriété il y a 12 ans, iels font le choix de ne plus avoir d’emplois. Leur objectif est clair dès le départ : devenir autonomes d’un point de vue alimentaire dès la première année d’installation. EXTRAITS : Il y a 6 ans en Aveyron, un écolieu culturel autogéré a vu le jour sur les ruines d’une ancienne carrière à chaux de 8 hectares. L’écolieu est à la fois un lieu de vie et un espace d’activités associatives. Il est ouvert au public et des événements s’y déroulent à la belle saison, parallèlement à l’accueil d’artisan.e.s et de résidences d’artistes. Cet endroit que je pressens très vivant et multiple m’attire beaucoup et c’est avec hâte que je découvre le fonctionnement de l’écolieu, si inspirant. Je suis notamment très touchée par une de leur initiative : iels déclarent 1,5 hectares de leur espace inaccessible aux humain.e.s pour y préserver les espèces sauvages. Entre les arbres et herbes hautes, les taillis et les haies sont préservés et je sens ici la vie sauvage s’épanouir pleinement, dans une cohabitation très attentive. Je reste une dizaine de jours sur place fin août pour prendre le temps de rencontrer tout le monde. Je suis très curieuse de découvrir l’organisation du collectif. Cet écolieu se veut être un espace de création culturelle et d’éducation populaire. Un endroit qui favorise les rencontres et le lien social autour d’outils de créations artistiques, d’expérimentations écologiques et d’organisations citoyennes. C’est aussi un laboratoire où s’expérimentent des outils de gouvernance partagée et où l’on essaie d’inventer d’autre possibles. L’association comporte une dizaine de membres actif.ve.s de 11 à 65 ans qui vivent sur place où aux alentours et certain.e.s sont membres de la S.C.I. qui détient le lieu. Une quarantaine d’adhérent.e.s. participent également activement à la vie de l’écolieu et plusieurs centaines le fréquentent occasionnellement ou dans le cadre d’activités régulières. Le hameau de vie quant à lui est une zone sur le terrain où sont hebergé.e.s des membres actif.ve.s ou des adhérent.e.s s’engageant à devenir membres actif.ve.s. L’association leur met à disposition une parcelle pour poser leur habitat mobile ou léger, en échange d’une participation financière aux impôts fonciers et à l’assurance, ainsi que de la responsabilité de l’entretien des structures du site. Le groupe se constitue de manière affinitaire et s’auto-organise pour sa vie commune et l’aménagement de cet espace du lieu. Le hameau accueille également d’autres adhérent.e.s de l’association de manière temporaire, dans le cadre de stages, résidences, chantiers bénévoles, événements etc. Chacun.e.s des habitant.e.s mène ses propres activités professionnelles et tou.te.s se retrouvent autour de chantiers communs dont la permanente restauration des bâtiments du lieu. EXTRAITS : L’écolieu «la Guette en Brocéliande» est niché au cœur de l’Île et Vilaine, au beau milieu de la mythique forêt de Brocéliande. Ce lieu de deux hectares et demi et l’association «La guette, terre et partage» ont vu le jour il y a vingt ans sur l’initiative d’Alexis, 81 ans. Cet endroit paisible est un carrefour de rencontres intergénérationnelles qui favorise toutes les alternatives dans l’espoir de voir éclore de nouveaux mondes. C’est à la fois le berceau de multiples rassemblements, de recherches, de rencontres, mais aussi un lieu-refuge pour bon nombre de personnes de passage. Que l’on vienne participer aux événements publics, trouver un espace de calme dans une période mouvementée de sa vie, ou se balader simplement dans la forêt, «la Guette» est ouverte à tous.tes. Je passe quelques jours ici fin septembre vers la fin de mon périple et je constate beaucoup de mouvements dans cet écolieu dynamique où l’on expérimente pleinement la simplicité volontaire. «La Guette» compte environ douze événements annuels qui attirent jusqu’à deux mille personnes chaque année. Et malgré tout ce passage, Alexis le fondateur du lieu, reçoit chacun.e avec toujours autant de chaleur et de joie. J’arrive ici impatiente de découvrir un lieu de vie créé il y a si longtemps. «La Guette» qui existe depuis maintenant vingt ans me prouve que les alternatives, tout en restant mouvantes, peuvent être pérennes. Cet écolieu est aussi la preuve par l’exemple qu’il est encore possible de créer ce type d’initiatives sans être dépendant des réseaux sociaux. «Je n’ai pas de télé, pas de portable, pas d’internet ! Il y a d’autres gens qui mettent sur internet pour nous. C’est l’un de nous qui a décidé ça mais moi j’ai fonctionné longtemps sans rien. Bouche à oreille, affiches et annonces dans les journaux spécialisés comme Passerelle éco, S!lence, L’âge de faire, Sans transition ! etc, ou dans des radios locales, des choses comme ça.» Durant mes quelques jours sur place, je découvre le lieu mais aussi son fondateur, Alexis, qui accompagne depuis des années des personnes et des initiatives sociales ou écologiques. C’est une personne remarquable de résilience et qui rayonne d’une générosité sans limite pour les gens qui l’entourent. EXTRAITS : Roulopa est une association créée par Mickaël et Florian. Ce couple, avec leurs chiens et chat, sillonnent les routes depuis l’été 2018 à bord d’une roulotte tractée par deux chevaux de trait. Ils incarnent pour moi la simplicité volontaire avec leur choix de vie nomade qui a comme objectif la transmission et le partage d’une autre façon d’habiter le monde. «On ne sait jamais quand on arrive, on ne sait jamais quand on repart». Partis de Gironde, ils sont de passage dans le Morbihan en septembre 2020 où je les rejoins pour quelques jours. Ils cherchent alors à se rendre dans le Finistère, prochaine étape où ils prévoient de se marier à l’été 2021 avec tous leurs proches et toutes les personnes qui les ont accueilli durant leur voyage. Mais leur envie de voyage ne s’arrête pas à la Bretagne. Avec leur roulotte et leurs chevaux, il visent «le bout du monde». Pour l’atteindre, il ne leur reste plus qu’à savoir où il se situe, et ils ne semblent pas pressés de le découvrir : sans objectifs géographiques ni contraintes de temps, ils profitent simplement de leurs expériences et vivent au fil des rencontres. La vie de nomade en roulotte hippomobile impose intrinsèquement un mode de vie décroissant. Ce sont des préoccupations et un quotidien différents d’une vie sédentaire, c’est ce qui me pousse à faire la rencontre de ce couple. Cette vie de nomade en roulotte, assez rare en France, permet pourtant une grande liberté et une certaine autonomie. Comme ils déplacent leur habitat, ils n’ont besoin pour vivre que de nourriture ainsi que de quelques litres d’eau qu’ils glanent ici et là. Ces cyanotypes - bleus incarnent à travers ce procédé de développement à la fois une instabilité, une intemporalité et le mouvement - du bleu - qui se révèle au contact de l'eau. Les tirages réalisées depuis 2023 sont issus de photographies prises depuis 2016 en France, Espagne, Italie, Slovénie, Croatie, Albanie et Turquie. En tant qu'adepte du « slow tourisme » et trop habituée à voyager en van, je cherchais un moyen de sortir de ma zone de confort. Ne souhaitant pas prendre l'avion par préoccupations environnemental, c'est le moyen de transport qui m'a paru le plus adapté pour faire des rencontres et avoir un impact carbone de voyage très faible. Nous avons fait 3569 kms en 18 jours en octobre 2024 pour rejoindre Istanbul depuis Poitiers. 47 voitures et 2 bus de nuits nous ont fait traverser la France, l'Allemagne, l'Autriche, la Slovénie, la Croatie, Le Monténégro, l'Albanie, la Macédoine du Nord et la Bulgarie pour rejoindre la Turquie. Des français, des allemands, des croates, des bosniaques, une autrichienne, un turc, un syrien, des monténégrins, un slovaque, une russe, des albanais, des canadiens, des macédoniens et un bulgare nous ont permis de réaliser ce voyage. Les emplois des personnes étaient très diversifiés : une employée de Jonhdeer, un homme qui rénove sa maison, une gendarme, des entrepreneurs dans l'import export, une aide soignante, un commercial, une étudiante en médecine, un photographe, des cameramans pour la TV bavaroise, des travailleurs du BTP, un champion de voile, un pêcheur dans une entreprise familiale, un retraité, un ingénieur dans l'aéronautique, une étudiante dans le tourisme, des employés à Burger king, un praticien en médecine chinoise, un pharmacien, un chauffeur poids-lourd, un ouvrier d'usine, un paysan, un mécanicien, des comptables, un employé de casino, des chargés de la fiscalité, un ingénieur dans la robotique... Attendre des heures au bord de la route quelque soit la météo et dépendre uniquement des autres n'est pas toujours simple. Nous avons pris deux bus de nuits pour fuir le froid ou faciliter un passage de frontière. Malgré les difficultés et la barrière de la langue, ce type de voyage très fatiguant permet de faire énormément de rencontres. Passer beaucoup de temps dans des véhicules avec des inconnus permet d'apprendre sur les cultures et problématiques locales. Quelques images sont également en Turquie, car voyager en faisant de belles rencontres avec une telle liberté est assez addictif. Pigeon". Céline est cofondatrice de l'association Clean My Calanques, créatrice de contenus pour des clients engagés et s’intéresse aux pigeons, ces oiseaux déconsidérés. C'est sur les réseaux sociaux qu'elle découvre que certaines personnes portent secours aux pigeons blessés en enlevant les fils et cheveux qui entravent leurs pattes, créent des garrots et les font souffrir. Elle décide alors de soigner, défendre et sensibiliser le public à l'histoire et à la condition des pigeons. Les pigeons sont des animaux liminaires, ni sauvages ni domestiques, qui vivent en liberté en zones urbaines proches des humains. Le pigeon biset, celui que l'on trouve majoritairement en ville, a été domestiqué pendant des années avant d'être relâché dans la nature. Dans les rues de Marseille, Céline attrape régulièrement des pigeons pour désentraver leurs pattes puis les relâche immédiatement. Son kit de soin est composé simplement d'une serviette pour mettre sur la tête du pigeon, d'une paire de ciseaux, d'un découvit, d'une pince à épiler, d'un désinfectant sans alcool, d'une espèce d'agent colloïdal et de gel hydroalcoolique. Pour en apprendre davantage, elle a réalisé une formation d'une semaine chez Faune Alfort, un centre de soin pour la faune sauvage en partenariat avec l'école vétérinaire de Maisons-Alfort. "Pinpon Pigeon" a rapidement prit de l'ampleur sur les réseaux. Céline a créé des groupes Whatsapp pour que les nombreuses personnes désireuses d'aider les pattes des pigeons puissent se regrouper dans différentes villes. Suite à cet engouement, Céline effectue maintenant les démarches pour créer une association afin d'encadrer les sauvetages grâce à une charte et des recommandations sur les soins à fournir. Grâce à ses actions sur le terrain et sur les réseaux sociaux où elle parle de l'histoire et de l'anatomie des pigeons, les regards évoluent. Elle reçoit de nombreux témoignages de personnes qui, grâce à son contenu, changent leur perception de ces oiseaux mal-aimés, si souvent considérés comme nuisibles. <img width="3333" height="5000" Moulin d'Elina » à Ploeuc-L'Hermitage, dans les Côtes-d'Armor, est né en 2020. À la différence d’un refuge animalier, ici, les animaux sont sanctuarisés et ne sont pas proposés à l’adoption. Une soixantaine d’animaux ont été recueillis et vivent une vie paisible sur le site de trois hectares, riche d’un beau biotope. Des naturalistes ayant vécu un an au sanctuaire ont relevé la présence de 90 espèces d’animaux sauvages. Le lieu est sanctuarisé, refuge ASPAS et LPO, l’accès est interdit aux chasseurs et aux pêcheurs. Les animaux sauvages et domestiques cohabitent dans ce bel espace. Les deux ânes, les deux poneys ainsi que les poules vivent en liberté sur le site. On y trouve également des cochons, des chèvres, des moutons, des vaches, des cochons d’Inde, un lapin, deux furets, un chien et des chats. Tous les animaux sont issus de sauvetages, certains proviennent de saisies judiciaires, d’abandons, de cas de maltraitance ou encore de l’industrie laitière, comme ces agneaux arrivés bébés et nourris au biberon. Bien que des pâtures soient prêtées par la commune, le site est en limite de capacité et ne peut accueillir davantage d’animaux. Des bénévoles, dont certains permanents, participent au bon fonctionnement du sanctuaire et au nourrissage des animaux. Jim Legrand, fondateur du sanctuaire animalier est un ancien militaire et a toujours œuvré pour la protection animale. Il a créé une association en Normandie et a fait partie de l’ONG Wildlife Angel, spécialisée dans la lutte anti-braconnage, notamment à la frontière entre la République démocratique du Congo et le Rwanda, pour la protection des gorilles dos argentés. Il a ensuite suivi une formation d’éducateur comportementaliste animalier, domaine dans lequel il n’a finalement pas exercé, avant de se former à la médiation animale. Le modèle économique qui permet le fonctionnement de l’association, ainsi que les soins et le nourrissage des animaux, repose sur plusieurs sources de financement : la location saisonnière d’hébergements insolites intégrés au paysage, notamment un kota finlandais et une bulle, la présence d’une villa senior, les dons régulièrement recherchés, ainsi que la pratique de la médiation animale, pratiquée dans le respect du bien-être des animaux, auprès de publics fragilisés. La vision de Jim Legrand n’est pas de déplacer les animaux hors du site, mais de faire venir sur place des IME, des MAS, des centres pour jeunes, ou encore des personnes atteintes de troubles autistiques, de trisomie 21, ou d'autres formes de vulnérabilité. Un accès PMR a été mis en place à l’entrée du site afin de permettre aux personnes d’approcher les animaux en toute sécurité. Environ un animal par espèce a été formé à la médiation, mais ils restent libres de ne pas interagir avec les humains s’ils ne le souhaitent pas. Jim apprécie l’idée que ces animaux, qui avaient au départ besoin d’aide, puissent aujourd’hui aider à leur tour des publics fragilisés.
